I've had my 280 for 30 yrs or so. It shoot's 150 gr class bullets the best. It really like the 154 gr SST

I've probably killed 100 or more deer with just Nosler 7mm bullets and never had an issue. The BT's are outstanding bullets when used within their design parameters.

I don't have a 6.5 but 41 to 45 grains of Sta.ball 6.5 should get you to where you need to be with the 140 gr BT.
