Welcome aboard. As you may know there's different "levels" of XTP bullets. What I mean is, there's two different weights that are classified as "mag's". A 240 gr and a 300 gr. These bullets are tougher than trying to nail jelly to a tree. I would definitely leave these alone with the parameters...
If I hunted large, tough game I may consider those bonded type bullets but since I don't hunt game like that I'll stay with my 44 cent SST and 43 cent Gameking bullets.
Congratulations! Grand kids are the greatest! I've got 9 as well.
Proverbs 17 "Children's children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers."
For the Christian Easter is perhaps the greatest time of all. Whether or not one believes, without our great God and Savior Jesus Christs death and resurrection from the grave, his death would have been an insignificant event. As Paul said in, 1st Corinthians 15 "If in this life only we have...
You are right. Im not really concerned about how fast but inquiring minds want to know! LOL Where I hunt my shots rarely exceed 125 yds with the vast majority around 65-70 yds.
Well, I "think" Ive found my load. After increasing the charge weight half a grain from the previous charge weight it seemed to really like this combo. Load consists of Hornady brass, IMR-4895, WLRP, 165 gr Nosler Solid Base bullet and 2.800. coal. Temp was 80 degrees today and sunny. The...
Yes sir, that's a deal. I remember several years ago I was at Wally World after deer season ended. They had put their Blackhorn 209 powder on clearance. I bought 5-6 bottles of it for 14 dollars per. I'm still using that supply as well.
I've probably killed 100 or more deer with just Nosler 7mm bullets and never had an issue. The BT's are outstanding bullets when used within their design parameters.
I was tooling around in my local outdoor store the other day and came across these bullets. 20 dollars per box. Every now and then a blind squirrel finds a nut. I guess I'll add them to my stash of Nosler bullets. I have other flavors that I currently use but couldn't pass "um up.
Here's a recovered 284 cal 154 gr SST out of my 280. Buck was facing me at about 65 yds, shot the buck in the neck. It traveled down the neck into the chest. Found the bullet in the liver. Buck was DRT.
What species of turkey are you dealing with?? I will say this, if "your" public land is anything like the "my" public land your endeavor is going to be TOUGH and I mean, TOUGH! I have killed most of my gobblers late, late morning. It's so tempting to keep calling because it's exciting to hear...
