Lucked Up On Some Bullets!

I was tooling around in my local outdoor store the other day and came across these bullets. 20 dollars per box. Every now and then a blind squirrel finds a nut. I guess I'll add them to my stash of Nosler bullets. I have other flavors that I currently use but couldn't pass "um up.

I've probably killed 100 or more deer with just Nosler 7mm bullets and never had an issue. The BT's are outstanding bullets when used within their design parameters.

I have the 150 gr BTs for developing a load in my 280 Rem.
While it shoots the 140 gr AccuBonds to 1/2 MOA, I am using that bullet in the 7mm-08, and the 160 gr AccuBonds in my 7MM STW which shoots 1" groups at 300 yards, and the 7mm PRC is shooting 3/4" groups with the 170 gr TA, I want to go with the middle weight for the 280.
This will provide me with a nice weight spread amongst the various cartridges. I do prefer to stick to one bullet weight for each rifle/cartridge combination.

I agree with your choice of 150 gr bullets for the 280 Remington. If the BT doesn’t pan out, consider the 150 gr AB, ABLR or PT. Any one of those would definitely step up your 280 Rem should a bigger target of opportunity present itself while out hunting.

I also have the 150 gr ABs and will be developing a load for these as well, using the load data for the BT as the starting point to tweak the load for the AB.
Would be great if both would shoot to the same poi.

In my first 280 Rem (a Browning A Bolt Composite Stalker back in 1989), I found the Hdy 162 gr Interlock to be the most accurate load. I didn't have access to a chrony back then, but the max load of IMR 4350 gave good results, with recoil closer to that of a 7mm Rem Mag than the factory 280 Rem ammo of the day.
It proved effective on the mule and whitetail deer of BC and Saskatchewan back then.

Found a deal at Walmart several years back. 6.5 Ballistic Tips for $8 a box. Went back a couple days later to buy some more and asked if they were still $8? Guy says no, they’re $5 now. Still using that supply.

Yes sir, that's a deal. I remember several years ago I was at Wally World after deer season ended. They had put their Blackhorn 209 powder on clearance. I bought 5-6 bottles of it for 14 dollars per. I'm still using that supply as well.
