Not sure. I just got a Chrono yesterday. Didn't really have time to set it up. Im going back to the range next week and see how fast or slow some of my loads are.
Im curious to see how those .308 165 gr SB's perform on deer this coming season
Sure, it'll hunt and I would be happy with it but honestly, that one, like the vast majority of "just a bit off" shots are shooter error. I know that one was. It's hard to keep your focus at a public range when there's 10-12 others banging away
Today was a beautiful day in my area of SC. Highs were in the mid 70's with just a slight breeze. I finally got my 308 die set and put together a couple loads to try Friday evening. I also bought a box of the new Nosler 165gr Solid Base bullets. I put together 15 rounds powered by IMR-4895 and...
The older we get the more these ol bodies break down. Here's to a speedy recovery. Im a member of an Independent Baptist Church in upstate SC about 3-1/2 hrs from Summerville. Church planting is a tough job.
Ive always been partial to the Browning rifles. I have owned several down through the years with my current Browning being a ABolt in 280 Rem that I have owned for 30 years. I've killed upwards of 120-130 deer with it, along with a few hogs. It shoots just about anything that I put in it. If I...
You can use acetone or laquer thinner to dissolve the moly. Pour enough into some sort of container to cover the bullets. You can also use a tumbler but it'll take longer than the chemical method.
It was 75 degrees here in upstate SC today. We have had some 80-degree days the past week or so. Things are budding, and the peach trees are starting to bloom and turkeys are starting to gobble. However, we are expecting colder weather this upcoming week with lows in the upper 20s and highs...
Im not sure if this is the place for this, I just bought a 308 win and I thought I had a 308 die, however, after looking I do not have one. Would anyone here have a 308 win die they would be willing to trade for a RCBS 7mm Rem mag die?
I was at my local Wally World yesterday and they had a Ruger American 308 on "clearance" for 340 dollars. I really didn't need it but need is sometimes not the deciding factor. 😁 I was wondering if any of you all had any shareable load data? I really like 165 gr bullets in a 308, however...
Update: After I posted this I had the opportunity to go to the range. After a few shots and a few adjustments my grandson said, "papa that thing is still shooting a little high and to the right". I took the bolt out of the rifle and while looking down the bore I turned the elevation dial and the...
Never used any Retumbo but I shot RL22 and IMR-4831with either a 140 gr Partition or 140 gr BT in my 7 mag with outstanding results for many years. For whatever reason I eventually started using the 150 gr Ballistic Tip with stellar results as well.
I have a Leupold VX3-HD that I was resetting to optical center the other day and noticed I didn't have the required "clicks" to match the specification of 75 MOA. If one MOA is 1.047 at 100 yds there should be 300 clicks of total elevation travel. 37.5 moa up and 37.5 moa down, which works out...
Im in SC, about an hour and half or less from Asheville, and yes, super liberal and it is the San Francisco of the East coast. Plenty of mountainous terrain to hunt though
