Great pic my brother. In SC we have two permanent hawks, Red-Tail and Red Shoulder, however we have other species at different times of the year. We also have Broad-winged Hawk, and the Swainson's and Rough-legged Hawks, they are rare but regular Winter visitors.

Red Dot is mainly a shotgun powder but has several applications in the pistol realm. On another note, I love those "powder gifts". I was gifted roughly 16 lbs of powder a couple years ago. 8 lbs of each IMR-4895 and IMR-4831.

I don't own one now but have owned several 270's over the years and was partial to 150 gr bullets and RL-22, of course I did use my share both versions of 4831 though.

While I agree, Unfortunately, that's the "price" one must pay today if powder is needed. I highly doubt IMR powder will be cheaper.

My old RCBS Powder Pro scales have been ticking right along since 2000. I couldn't justify spending that sort of money. On another note, my old Powder Pro's were made by PACT right here in the USA. Who manufactures the new scales??

I have used the 154 and 139 gr SST bullet for several years now and have killed 20-25 deer with them with most shots within 65 yds and have not experienced any of what you described here but isn't it great that we have choices.
