Cool looking rifles. I say go 30-06, one of my favorite calibers. The same modern powders that make the 308 better do the same in the 30-06. H4350, Reloder 17, Hunter and Staball 6.5 etc make the ol' warhorse a standout and that much better.

That did very well for a cup and core bullet at that velocity. How's accuracy with that load?

Hard to beat Titegroup and Win 231/HP-38. Those are my go-to's for plinking loads in just about any pistol round.

I've used H1000 and LRT in the 7mm PRC and 168gr ABLR. I got much better velocity with LRT, currently doing 2900 fps out of a 20" barrel. Works awesome on deer. You can check the 7mm bullet test forum where I recovered one from a buck.

I say go for it and have fun. Definitely wouldn't want to use it for any high volume shooting though. That'd be a good way to burn out a barrel & blow through reloading supplies.

I used to carry some 38 Spl +P Buffalo Bore 158gr LSWCHP's in my S&W 442. Good gravy they recoiled! They penetrated very well though and would be a good woods carry load.

I was just gifted this almost full 4 lb canister of Red Dot but I have never used Red Dot before. What loads have y'all used this for? It's obviously on the old side, but is in excellent condition. I ask this because I do not load for shot shells. Any help would be appreciated.

It shoots great, right around an inch or a little less if I do my part with very little load development. It wasn't a max load, so I could get more velocity but it's working so well I might leave it alone.
