    Nosler 28 Reloading

It didn’t bother me until I saw an impact in the frozen dirt at the feet of a large wild hog standing in a plowed corn field….I haven’t done the math, but that was the end of IMR powders in my cases about 15-20yrs ago. There was adequate distance involved for it to blow the deal, obviously. And...

    .264 130/140 AB

I’m looking for velocity, and the shorter bearing surface of the ABLR would benefit me, there. The added BC of course helps down the line, never a bad thing. At the advice of a very experienced rifleman, I started sorting ABLR’s to the nearest .001” based on BTO length, with both a Short Action...

    .264 130/140 AB

I like velocity in this gun, 140’s are in hand, I’ll try them first. The 110’s at 3400-3420 were awesome in my 25/06AI The 129 or 130 may be next, I assume the 129 has a shorter bearing surface.

    .264 130/140 AB

Does anyone here run these at high speed, as in 3300+? I’m looking for a 0-350yd point and pull the trigger setup, 83gr Sherman Mega case, R23/26 or n570 powder. Whatever it takes, at 28”. Thanks, Phil

I need help with reloading a 280 Remington with 19 in barrel

Midway had some R23, but ol Larry isn’t in a hurry to get rid of it. Obviously!

    Heavier 257 AB; better BC

These 133/135 Bergers shoot great and soar a while from a 7.5” twist, I’ve run them from 3115-3200+ in a 25SS at 26”, 72gr capacity. I intend to give them a go at some point in the Mega case, 83grs, starting out at 3300-3400. It’s set up for monos right now, great velocity and precision and...

    Talk to me about VihtaVuori

Guys, the n565 powder charges usually run the same as H1000. For comparison. It is temp stable., Usually 50-70fps more velocity than H1000. 568 normally needs a fairly roomy case to hit pressure, for me that’s been around 2grs more than 565/H1000. Also temp stable. 570 will get all there is to...

    Bullet Wish List for 2022

    257 ABLR ? 120-125?

Yes, my daughters 25 mega would appreciate it also. The ABLR impressed me last season in .284 168gr and I’m looking to use them in 6.5 next season. Possibly .308 as well

    257 Wby - N570

N565 might be a better burn rate for those bullet sizes.? I’ve done limited testing with a 25 Sherman Mega, 82-83gr capacity, it performed well with R23 with 100gr TTSX and 116gr apex gen 3 monos. N560 would sizzle, but it’s not temp stable. Peterson brass is thick, definitely holds less than...

Solid Baser Boat Tail Non-Ballistic Tip

The new BT “ hunting” will solve any concerns you have with penetration, give better expansion and energy dump than a partition, and better precision to boot, with better BC.. I have killed plenty with 100grs at 3500+,and 115 grs at 3350+. I shot a LOT of the old ones, so I understand exactly...

    Nosler 28 Reloading

Don’t build a 28nos and run it like a 7PRC! There’s always a suitable compromise based on individual needs, but those big performers are awesome when turned loose.

    Nosler 28 Reloading

Let er rip. More barrel blanks await us both. That erosion is a direct indicator of high performance

    Nosler 28 Reloading

N568 is much milder on the throat, and maybe 50fps slower, this is from a builder/friend who also excels in F-Class.

    Tucson

I spent several days in Mesa, late October. Visited Bruno’s and a shooting pal. I enjoy the clean dry air, it does wonders for my breathing. Prayers up for your family, safe travels.

    100,000 PSI?

I for one have no interest in extreme pressure arrangements just to have a sawed-off barrel and .473 bolt face. What is the advantage here beyond having a “convenient” sized gun? I’m ready to see the rate of barrel erosion compared to more standard pressure, and other pertinent data, from an...

Nosler Solid Base bullets are back

I can’t remember, been too long. Do they act more like the old BT’s or new BT hunting, concerning expansion?
