    The .41 Special

I must say, this one has me more excited than any other “newer” handgun cartridge that has come along in the last 20 years. The idea of a 215 grain bullet at 1000 fps, seems useful both for self-defense but also hunting applications. .30 Super Carry, meh. .327 Federal Magnum, whoop-tee-doo...

    Muzzleloading 12 gauge

So it’s not a Traditions, but a Knight TK2000. I have attached some pics below. Thanks for the tip on those “shot cards” WV, I will get some ordered. I wonder if with the .715 roundballs, any sort of wad or patch is desirable?

    Muzzleloading 12 gauge

So no doubt due to a mild case of sentimentality and possibly some heat exhaustion a pal of mine (we are both on the local volunteer fire department) recently gifted me a Traditions In-line muzzleloading 12 gauge. This is not your typical fouling piece. It is housed in a synthetic thumbhole...

    9.3x57mm

Anyone here have any experience with this cartridge? The 9.3x62 gets a lot of attention and rightly so, but his slightly shorter brother has been on my mind lately. A <200 yard deer/elk/bear cartridge that can handle heavier bullets (232-270 ish are the range I’m most interested in) than a...

    Taxidermy,costs,and the here after

I just do Euro mounts or the old antlers mounted on a board method. I am too tight and my house is too small to pony up for nice taxidermy. I would rather have a nice 8”x10” photo on the wall of the grip and grin than pay thousands of $$ for my kids to throw it/give it away after I’m gone.

    Any 284win peeps here

We have three of them in the family. Two Savage 99’s and one Winchester 88. If I had the coin I would love to have a custom built on a long action (so high bc bullets could be seated out to 3”). But a .280/.280 AI would serve that purpose just as well. A great cartridge the .284, way ahead of...

What is your favourite metric cartridge?

The 6mm Remington is my current favorite. I do love the 6.5x55 and 7x57, as well as the 8mm Remington Mag, 9x19 and 10mm Auto!!

    Remington 11-87 troubleshooting

I must be losing it. Upon re-examination I discovered the shotgun is in fact an 11-48, not an 11-87, which would be why there is no rubber ring. 🤦‍♂️ Sent it to my smith to figure out.

    Remington 11-87 troubleshooting

Bought a used Remington 11-87 12 gauge (2 3/4” only) from a friend a while back. Bought some Federal #8 target loads and took it to the range this weekend. It shoots, cycles, but will not eject spent hulls. Research suggested I inspect/replace the gas ring. Upon disassembly, I discovered that...
