    I placed classifieds on several forums looking for a lowpowered 20mm scope. I have been offered a redfield 1-4x20mm for $110 or a Gander mtn 4x 20mm scope for $65. I'm just wondering if I'd be better buying a new 1-3 weaver for $160ish or a vx1 1-4 for $199

    well its a keeper, Shot it yesterday two different handloads that shoot great in my contender 370 cast gc bullet w/ 5744 and 405 rem cl w/ re7. both shot to point of aim at 50 yards. eight shots in about a 3inch group not bad for a gun I had never fired before and with open sites. to top it off...

    all my elk shots have been less than 50 yards but I would go 338 or 358 caliber. I use a whelen and love the knockdown power.

    The whelen does hammer deer good, but also nails elk and bear pretty hard also.

    I would use a nosler 200 rn in my whelen for deer. my current deer bullet is 200 rn sp bulk rem cl's. If you make it I will buy it.
