Here is my Ruger 1B in 30-06 that has a fixed 4x Leupold scope on it. Ruger 1B 6mm Remington with 6x-42mm Leupold scope on it. Three shots at 400 yards.

It's screaming to be pulled out and shot as well as hunting with it. What are you waiting for!

Me as well as there may or may not be one lurking in my safe! Great rifle and great cartridge. The 280 and 30-06 make a fantastic pairing in the 1B.

When I built a Winchester Model 70 Classic Sporter into a 280AI, I went with a 24" Shilen match grade barrel with a 1-9 twist barrel on it. It shoots very well and I could not be happier. I had thought about doing a 280 Remington, but I am glad I went with the 280AI. Sweetheart of a cartridge.
