I haven't seen any fawns in this part of NC as of yet but I expect to see them showing up in the soy bean fields with their moms any day now. I usually spot the first fawns around here in early June which is right around the corner but it isn't unusual to see one in late May either.

I don't own a .270 but I help my brother load for his. He likes shooting the 130's for deer and his favorite bullets in no particular order are the Speer Hot-Cor, Sierra Pro Hunter and the Nosler BT's. He tends to shoot the Speer Hot-Cor more than the other two.

I've used both over the years in the 30.06 as well as the 25 and have never experienced any temp problems with either.

A friend of mine bought the same rifle for his 12yr old son and he's harvested several nice deer with it over the past couple years. The 7mm-08 is a good caliber with mild recoil and should serve your daughter well. My friend reloads and if I'm not mistaken he loads the sierra 120gr pro hunters...

I love the Speer Gold Dots and that's what I carry for self defense. My G36 gets 230gr GD's and my little Kahr CM9 gets the 124gr GD's. I haven't had any problems what so ever with either gun feeding or shooting the gold dots.

I have a CM9 and I agree Kahr does have a nice trigger.

I use a RCBS kinetic puller that I've had for years and it has worked well for me. I had to replace the collet and o-ring recently because it wore out and wouldn't hold the cases anymore.
