I do want to make a load for my new rifle build . Just finished a tikka action with 24in with a m24 contour 1in10 twist in a krg bravo chassis. I have some 168gr sierra matchking . If I can find some 4064 ill try it but it hasn't been available for few years here in town . Probably just use...
Scope os 1/4 click.. I currently shoot it the same way it will be shot out the shooting house window . Off a 2x6 , thats what the bottom of window is make from so can put a piece of foam there for gun to rest on ..
Yeah that last part would drive me nuts 😆
Funny you say that . My ruger gen 1 shoots pretty good with 43.0gr varget and a 150gr sierra gameking btsp. Also shoots good in my custom tikka . It did ok in the wifes also .
Never thought about that . Im definitely gonna do this from now on.
Im gonna try that 45gr load again this weekend. Shoot 1 round every 15 or 30 mins see where it lands . Hopefully that will prove something?

So I had a box of Sierra Game King boat tail soft point that I use in one of my hunting rifles decided to try it in my wifes gun a ruger gen 2 308 . It was OK , the orange dot to the left is 1.5 in so I guess it's not too bad for a factory hunting rifle ? Was 100 yards.
but I'm more concerned...
Id say it worked pretty good ! . Im thinkimg all the people saying it leaves small holes are not paying attention to the internals like someone stated before it may be doing a lot of internal shock and damage it just exits small
I have a hundred of the 150gr sst im gonna try . Was debating if I should get a small base die or not . The load data is ehat im having a hard time deciding on . Whether or not if I want to use Hornady load data or someone else's. I want to use varget
I agree. Im sure theres 1 story thats changed about 20 times before being put in a online fourm ..
I will say back when the Nosler ballistic tip first came out I think they were a lot softer
