One of my friends etec went down because of the ignition computer or what ever it's called. He can get a used one for around 1500 and add labor with no guarantee. He's looking for a new or newer outboard.
I used grand with a 150 partition, my load ended up being 62.0 grs with a magnum primer. The deviations were large using regular rifle primers. I did a ladder test starting at 57.5 and working up.
Remington made a stainless model 700 classic in 257 roberts that was short action. One of the Sierra bullets with the short ogive might be a good option.
Nice featherweight. One of my proven loads for my featherweight uses H -4350 and a 130 partition but with a load around 20% higher than what you loaded.
When I was a kid, my mother froze everything dad and I brought home, fish, quail, dove, frog legs, et al in milk cartons. Back then we used a lot of milk and it was delivered to the door. Does anyone still make waxed paper cartons?
I've shot a lot of quail and never used anything but a Remington 1100 20 gauge with a 26" improved cylinder barrel. I usually used Remington sureshot 1oz number 7 1/2.

I'm pleased to see some positive chit chat about the solid base bullets, they were a favorite of mine. Glad to see them make a comeback and I hope it is a successfull one. Maybe Nosler will choose to load the Whitetail ammo in 7mm Rem Mag in either the 150 or 162gr.
I used that bullet in my 220 swift back in the eighties. I took several white tail deer as well as javelina and coyotes. I'd use them for deer today if Nosler still made 'em.
