Customer service sent me a mailing label and I returned the bulk box including the 5 with pierced primers. They are sending me 400 rounds, but no longer load the 40 gr BT. So I will be receiving 55 gr BT 223 ammo instead. Very happy with the customer service. It’d be nice to know what the...
I purchased three 400 round boxes of 40 gr BT .223 trophy grade ammo for a guided prairie dog hunt in 2021. Because of Covid the reservation was shut down to outsiders. I recently started shooting that ammo to finally go on a Pdog hunt and the first 5 rounds I shot from 1 of the boxes had...
Barnes has 6.5-300 Weatherby load data online.
Handloader Magazines December 2016 issue had 6.5-300 Bee data for over 380 loads.
I have 26 Nosler and 6.5-300 Weatherby rifles and hunt with both of them, I have not hand loaded for either of them yet. Nothing wrong with the 264 Win either, so if...
My Encore loved the Hornady FPBs, the Federal Bor-Loc's were a close 2nd choice. Thor's were impossible to find, maxi-balls and powerbelts shot about a 2' group at 30 yds out of my Encore. So in the end it depends on what your muzzleloader likes.
Welcome, I am fairly new here myself-lots of looking not much posting. I use N160 in my Browning 270 win. with 130 partitions. It's unbelievably accurate in my rifle, less then .3" at 100 yards. I do have a Vihtavuori Book and do not see N140 listed for use in the 270, it may be a little to fast...
Looks like you will have to do some work to get it to shoot consistent groups, but it's close already. Nice to have something to play with this time of year.
If you go with the peep sight, you might want to consider replacing it with a Williams aperture peep. I purchased one from EABCO and its mounted on the back of a weaver style scope base. It is nice to be able to adjust the size of the peep opening in regards to light conditions. While shooting...
Thanks Dr Mike, with the number of posts you have it looks like you've been around the block a time or two. I leave for Colorado on October 1 for an elk hunt in unit 76, the 35 Whelen would have been a better choice then the 300 SAUM I am bringing. I also have a muzzleloader deer tag to fill...
Well I need to apologize, apparently I am doing something wrong with my lazer bore sighter. After closing up the cabin I decided to remount some scopes I tried on my M48 Patriot, and I ran into the same elevation problem on rifles I've used many times.
Luckily I have also found a new range to...
TC Encore ML .50cal in GMU 103 for deer in CO
M48 Patriot in 26 Nosler with 129 ABLR-2nd Rifle for a bull elk in GMU 76 in CO
Weatherby Accuguard-257 Bee with 110 AB for whitetails in MInnesota and Wisconsin.
And I may buy an OTC black bear tag in MN and use a 300 H&H Remington 700 with 165 PT.
I've had 100 gr e-tips on order for one of 257 Bee's for almost a year at Cabelas. I stopped in a small general store in Osakis, MN and found 2 boxes on clearance which I purchased for $27.99. They also had some 270 and 6mm e-tips too, he said they were on clearance because they are...
Well no luck getting my M48 bore sighted, so Mike said its time to send it in. He said I've messed with it long enough and it's time to have them look at it. Hopefully back in a couple weeks. Thanks for all the advice.
I've had an itch for a 35 Whelen for a long time, and you guys have me...
I will give your ideas a try when I get home from fishing next week. But I did use my old fashioned method of the key hole on the front door after removing the bolt and looking down the bore and it still ran of adjustment. Shooting it at 25 yards would cure the itch I have to shoot it, and I...
AzDak42-I've tried 3 different scopes from other rifles, a Zeiss Conquest and 2 Leupolds and they all ran out of elevation. I've also tried 2 sets of Talley lightweights and a set of Leupold base and rings. All with the same result! I wonder if to much Cerakote was applied on one part of the...
The talleys are one piece and cannot be switched from front to rear since the screw holes are spaced wider apart. Also when I tried the Leupold base and rings with a 4-12x40 VX2, when I loosened the rear windage screws the base of the rear scope ring elevated about 1/16". I don't really want to...
Hi everyone, I am new to this forum and recently purchased a M48 Patriot in 26 Nosler. Though I have been using Nosler bullets while reloading for close to 40 years.
I've tried 2 sets of medium Talley lightweight scope mounts and a set of Leupolds on my new rifle, and I've also tried 2 Leupold...
