I bought back the last 243 Winchester I had owned previously. It is a Husqvarna. I had bought it from my deceased friend Ron's wife couple years after his passing. Killed three deer, Grandsons Brandon and Landon got their first deer with it. Friend Scott he wanted it so I like a dummy sold it...
Congratulations on your beautiful rifle. Not sure how it will be in felt recoil for you but maybe try going to lesser weight bullet such as 150 or 165 grain. Know some that use those weights in the 300 Win Mag.
You changed several variables it seems. My guess is the bipod rest setup and possible primer change. Go back to what your previous load and rest setup was and see if your groups go back to the same size as before.
Might not work on this gobbler since he was spoked but get in a different part of his zone or someplace where you know other gobblers will search thru and set up a decoy or two, make a couple of calls after good daylight then be silent. Don't call but once or twice about every 40 minutes. Think...

Why is it that when men go to the grocery store, we get the first item on the shelf and women have to look over everyone then get the third one back? Asking for a friend:unsure:

Small primer 45acp brass has been around for a few years now. Different resons for it but it does not seem to be an issue as far as reloading for it. I was given some as you were and decided to try it out using the same powder and bullet but with a small primer. The group size was about the...
Not trying to be a wise guy but you pretty much answered your own question with your last paragraph. Scotty gave you good advice to reference but doing as you said will let you know what your rifle will like and tolerate. Case in point. I've been doing the same thing with my Tikka 6.5x55 using...
