    .257 WBY to 6.5-.300 WBY?

Can a .257 Weatherby action be rebarreled to the new 6.5-.300 Weatherby, or is the action too small? Thanks for the help in advance.

7mm-08 140 Grain Accubond Load Development

Thanks for the suggestion, JD338. Will try doing that at my next range session to see what I can get out of her.

7mm-08 140 Grain Accubond Load Development

Thanks for the suggestions. Ended up getting to the range this morning and tested the following three loads: 46.0 grains of IMR 4350 with Federal 210 primers - 0.98" 45.0 grains of RL19 with Federal 210 primers - 1.10" 41.5 grains of RL15 with Federal 210 primers - 0.67" I was pretty happy...

7mm-08 140 Grain Accubond Load Development

Any suggestions for 7mm-08 pet loads using the 140 grain Accubond? Have been running the 120 grain Barnes TSX out of my son's Ruger American Compact but I'm looking for something a bit softer for longer range shots. The 120 shoots 1/2"-3/4" out of this gun, but I have yet been able to get...

    .300 WSM FPS Quickload Questions

I hate to move away from the load with the best accuracy, but the second load isn't terribly bad either and gets the bullet up to 2,900 FPS. The 67.0 grain load shot a 0.32" 3 shot group at 100 yards, while the 70.0 grain load shot a 0.76" group...

    .300 WSM FPS Quickload Questions

I've found a crazy accurate load out of my .300 WSM Browning A-Bolt - it's routinely shooting under .5" at 100 yards using 67.0 grains of IMR 7828 and 180 grain Sierra Gamekings. I don't have a chronograph, and I'm getting differing FPS ratings between the Nosler and Sierra load manuals...

2015 Oregon Second Season, Spike-Only Hunt

Thanks, Charlie. It's a great way to hunt the same unit on the years that you don't draw a branched bull tag. It has really allowed us to get to know the unit better over the last 11 years. Buddy's sheep hunt went really well. He ended up shooting a 157 5/8" net ram on opening day.

2015 Oregon Second Season, Spike-Only Hunt

Just returned from a great week in the mountains of NE Oregon hunting second season, spike-only elk. Ended up harvesting 2 spikes between the 6 of us. I took my 11 year old son this year and couldn't have had a better time. Shot this bull within an hour of opening morning. Slipped in on a...

    2014 Oregon Elk Hunt

Just returned from a week in the mountains of NE Oregon. Our group of six, harvested four bull elk this year. We hunted the general, second season, spike only hunt. We ended up getting into a herd of 150-200 elk on opening morning early, and took all of these bulls out of that group...Spent...

    Federal Trophy Copper by Nosler?

I've seen in a few online sites that the Federal Copper bullets are actually made by Nosler. Can anyone confirm whether that's the case or not? Thanks.

    2014 Oregon Bighorn Sheep Tag!!!

It's a guzzler that the Oregon Department of Fish & Wildlife build. Large catch basin with underground tanks supply water through a pipe to these guzzler mouths. They build them this small at the end so that they loose less water to evaporation.

    2014 Oregon Bighorn Sheep Tag!!!

Wanted to post a few pictures and a report from the hunt. I have to say, this will be one of the most memorable hunts I'll ever have. We spent 5 incredible days in the high desert of SE Oregon, and came home with a great 7 1/2 year old California Bighorn! Ended up shooting this guy at 275...

    2014 Oregon Bighorn Sheep Tag!!!

Heading back to the desert tomorrow for my 5th and final weekend of scouting. We have identified our #1 and #2 rams, and are hoping to pattern them over the weekend. With any luck we may locate some additional rams, but are feeling pretty good about the situation. It's been incredibly...

    2014 Oregon Bighorn Sheep Tag!!!

You're good BALTZ...that shot was taken right between Jenny and Jackass Springs. Water is definitely the limiting factor this year. Persistence will have to pay off on this one!

    2014 Oregon Bighorn Sheep Tag!!!

Thanks, Baltz. Thought you'd enjoy the mule deer picture from my last trip. Saw him in the same general area, just a bit to the west. Saw 37 sheep this trip. One small ram...still looking for the older age class.

    2014 Oregon Bighorn Sheep Tag!!!

Spent three days scouting during 4th of July week. Temperatures were in the mid-90's but we ended up seeing 69 sheep, 12 rams, most 5 years and younger. Water is definitely an issue this year. Heading back this morning for another weekend of scouting. Hoping to get into some older rams...

Suggested Loads for .300 WSM and 165 grain Accubonds?

Preparing for my late August sheep hunt and would like to use Nosler bullets in my .300 WSM. Anyone have any suggested loads for the 165 grain Accubond or Partition? The loads in the Nosler manual seem to be pretty anemic compared to the 180 grains...I thought they'd have more of a velocity...
