QL help for the 7mmRM Please

Limited by magazine length. I actually converted a Mauser 98 when I was 19 to 7mmRM, that was over 30 years ago. It may well be that the barrel has finally reached its end of life too, but it still shoots moa with 150nbt’s, so still a very handy rifle.

QL help for the 7mmRM Please

Merry Christmas to you as well. We are hard pressed to get imr powders here in Australia. Have also tried H1000 without a great deal of success. Thinking I may end up back at 160nbt’s and accubonds…and totally happy with that too.

QL help for the 7mmRM Please

Hi Guys, I have been working up some loads in my son’s 7mmRM using the 162eldx. We found it pretty temperamental to be honest. There was one accuracy node that we will work on. His barrel length is 26 inches, powder is H4813sc using 64.5 grains and 65 grains. 65.5 appeared to be developing...

    Very impressed on two fronts..30-378

What would they be, 3,500-3,600fps range. I bet that was massively confidence inspiring.

    Elk hunting story

The whole time I was reading the story I wondered whether I would have given up, particularly when the blood trail stopped. Elk must be an incredible animal to hunt. Well done

New BT load, performance on game?

The 150bt in my 7mmRM has been my go to bullet for two decades. I have never recovered one from probably 30 plus red deer. They are super accurate and a fantastic bullet.

    Nosler Santa

Dear Nosler Santa, was hoping you might make a 6.5 130 ballistic tip that I could use instead of the accubond for range time. I was hoping you might make a 9.3 calibre ballistic tip too whilst you’re in the shed playing around. Reckon box sizes of 100 for non-premium bullets would be great too...

    Another 142gr ABLR

That’s going to be some nice meals right there. That’s a lot of frontal area on that bullet, no wonder she was a bang flop. Great job.

    Accubond.....discuss

150grain accubond on pigs is outstanding out of a 270win. A 225accubond out of a 338wm absolutely punishes camels. 140accubond on fallow deer out of a 7mm08 is excellent. I would happily shoot accubonds in all my rifles if they proved to be the most accurate. As a hunting projectile I find them...

Heavier 6mm hunting bullet - Nosler listening?

I do sometimes wonder with the small calibre bullets that are great for target shooting at longer range and then we seek a hunting bullet to do the same, whether we are asking more of these cartridges than we should 🤔 Maybe I am just getting old and the brain is losing its plasticity.

    125gr NP

You can occasionally buy Alliant powder here in Australia, but you will have to part with a kidney to afford it. H4350 is kind of the standard in medium weight bullets for the 6.5’s that are not over bore.

I was wondering whether there would be enough mass in a deer for the bullet to work properly…well that question has been well and truly answered.

Heavier 6mm hunting bullet - Nosler listening?

103 eldx is a great bullet. Hornady are making some nice bullets right now. However they are not making bonded bullets and I do think that is a hole in their product line…just like I think Noslers 50bullet packs across its whole product line is annoying. Surely ballistic tips in all weights...
