    Federal’s Plus Peak 6.5 Creedmoor

It does make me wonder what a peak allow case in my 300RUM would be like :devilish::devilish::devilish:

    Federal’s Plus Peak 6.5 Creedmoor

Every video I have seen of the creedmore and the 7mm backcountry as said recoil is the equivalent of the “sibling” case. I honestly don’t have an answer or the experience of shooting either, just going off what the articles say. Never made sense to me but sometimes I’m not very bright either 😉

    Federal’s Plus Peak 6.5 Creedmoor

I think when they iron out the wrinkles it is massive. A 30/06 at 300 win mag velocities without the recoil is an incredible gain. I thought the peak creedmore was super clever by Federal particularly selling it at the same price as standard ammo. There are so many creedmores out there I reckon...

    338wm and 210TTSX

I was thinking H4350 which would have a similar burn rate to RL17. Can't get RL17 here right now, or if you can find it, at a price I am willing to pay for it.

    338wm and 210TTSX

Is it possible to safely get this bullet to around 3,000fps in the 338win mag?

    Making room in your safe

Buy another safe, then you will have room for more than just one more ;) Where I live we have to store our firearms without the bolt in and stored in a separate lockable space. I put mine in labelled calico bags so the risk of moisture accumulation would be reduced. It is pretty humid in parts...

    Where’s Dr Mike?

Dr Mike you sound a lot like my Dad. He turns 80 this year and still gets out and about. There is a stubbornness in him too which I would call life enhancing. Plenty of people at 80 are just breathing not living. Here’s to wonderful past times and adventures that keep us looking forward.

Hornady's new 257 Ackley Improved (Improved) or AII

I think it was just Seth from hornady just playing around to demonstrate the ability to hydroform brass rather than fire form it. 257 Roberts was his first centre fire from memory that he killed a deer, so there was also some nostalgia to the choice. Don’t think Hornady are intending to...

Will Nosler ever make an Accubond 100gr, or greater, in .243 / 6mm??

I’ll take the 105 option. If you’re going to do it, may as well give it a chance against other heavy for calibre bullets.

    Another trip to the Range

I have had really good success with the 139sst in my 7mm08 both in terms of accuracy and in the field. There has only been once where I was a little "concerned" and that was a shot on a fallow doe at maybe 30 yards that hit the shoulder blade and blew up/fragmented causing enormous damage...

    Swede QL Help Please

Thanks Fotis. Getting RL26 here would be near on impossible. Our range of powders in Australia has not returned to what it used to be and when we do get a small shipment, you need a second mortgage to purchase it.

    Swede QL Help Please

The choice in rifles now for this cartridge is pretty wide. When I first started shooting the Swede. it was a simple M96 Mauser with some risk regarding pressures. Never heard of one blowing up, but then I didn't know anyone who loaded them to modern day pressures either. It kind of tickles me...

    Swede QL Help Please

Thank you kind sir. I was hoping to get it to 2,900fps or thereabouts and that looks totally achievable with a margin of safety. It always amazes me what a handy little round it is.

    Swede QL Help Please

I am about to switch powders in the Swedish 6.5x55 to H4350. The rifle is a Tikka with a 22 inch barrel. Brass is Norma. I want to develop loads with the Hornady 129sst and 130 accubond. Could I please have a chart that works to 63,000. Happy to consider other powders (varget, h4813sc, h1000...

New BT load, performance on game?

I'm suspecting the accuracy node will be somewhere around 2,900-2,950fps. That is where my old 280rem used to sit, with the Ackley version in those numbers you're seeking to achieve. Really looking forward to hearing how it goes, you have powders there I never tried before.

What is your favourite metric cartridge?

I started life with an old sporterised mauser 96 in 6.5x55. Shot a lot of game with that rifle. Then moved to a 7mmRM which would be one of my all time favourite cartridges. It just gets stuff done. I have worn the barrel out on a 6mm Rem which is such an underrated cartridge. Those little 95...

New BT load, performance on game?

...and if you feel like the ballistic might not be quite enough, generally a perfect swap to the accubond. 180 grains out of a 300wm goes pretty good on most things too.
