I probably have the craziest RCBS free replacement story. I had a cat that liked to chew electrical cords, I kept all the important cords in the plastic conduit so it couldn't get them. I forgot one night with my brass tumbler on the counter, got up to a chewed up mess. Called RCBS just to...
I shoot the 6.5-06 in a 15" TC Encore, 125 gr partitions are deadly on deer and antelope, I haven't used it on elk. I neck up 25-06 brass with no issues, I went with necking up since I also have a 30-06 barrel and it makes keeping the brass separate easier.
I developed a couple different pages in excel that I print out and put in 3 ring binders. I have more in depth sheets for the bottleneck cartridges and less for the semi auto and revolver cartridges. I keep a different binder for rifles, single shot pistols and one for revolvers and semi auto...
I had excellent results from the 160 gr Barnes TTSX on elk this year with a 15" 338-06 TC Encore, I was getting 2575 at the muzzle and with a 180 yard shot the recovered bullet was magazine picture perfect for mushrooming and weighed over 150 gr. I would have to track down the exact weight again.
I have a 338-06 in a 15" TC Encore, I put this barrel together for elk hunting. Without a ton of load workup after picking the best powder from 5, I am getting 2571 with Barnes 160 TTSX bullets. I shot an elk at 180 yards with one and it weighed right at 159 gr when we found it under the hide...
Blkram, I am getting 2575 out of 15" barrel, the performance was a picture perfect mushroom with the petals peeled back. Last year I worked up a load with the Nosler 210 gr partition and was getting 2200 with it, I didn't get a chance to use it on anything. I went to the lighter bullet hoping...
I had a great Saturday morning(9/16/2023). My wonderful wife asked one of clients where she works if he allowed any elk hunting and he said sure. Turned into a great hunt, he and a couple young guys took me out and we spotted elk from the first area we stopped to glass. There was a big bull...
All went well, ordered Friday and package arrived this morning with everything I ordered, now to get some shooting and testing in.
@Darkhorse you are 100% right, if they were to spoof a website any phone number on it would take you to the scammer. I felt ok ordering when I got to check out...
Yes, I have an older Pro Chronograph but I decided to upgrade to one that I don't have to go down range to set up and I can check velocity and accuracy at the same time.
Has anybody seen anything with Midsouth's website being targeted by or cloned by any of the scammers? I am looking at Labradar chronographs and their sites pops up as having them in stock. I have ordered by Midsouth in the past(Pre Covid) but with basically everyone else showing out of stock...
June 16 and 17th handgun hunters from across the nation gathered in Newcastle, WY for the 3rd HHC. The individual who traveled the farthest came 1900 miles. I have been fortunate enough to compete all 3 years. Each year I have been privileged to shoot with great people from across the US...
if you have access to any type of ozone generator it might help with the smell. I picked a small one on amazon a couple years ago because I left a couple hunting jackets in the garage and they had an odor. it worked for that.
Archery
I competed indoors and outdoors from age 4 till I started college. I added 3-D as a teenager, I competed in what I am pretty sure was the first 3-D shoot in WY. It was in Sundance, WY and it was BYOT(Bring your own target) this shoot happened before there were any commercially...
That is exactly the way I have been doing it. I shoot break action single shot pistols so I have never tried the Hornady tool. I just close the action on a spit case with the bullet long, I usually measure 3 to 5 times to make sure I am getting a good reading.
