I am using a RCBS 505 scale. Lately i have lost some confidence in it. I have discovered discrepancies as much as 1.4gr on a 73gr charge when spot checked against a Lyman electronic scale with check weights. What are my options?
I have a RCBS 505 have lost confidence in it. I checked it against a Lyman electronic scale with check weights and found that the 505 was about 1gr heavy on a 73 gr charge.
Thanks to everyone for your input. One additional question, I know that life expectancy is generally better with neck sized brass. which method generally produces the best accuracy?
When it comes to outfitting the boat i would strongly encourage you to think about going with lithium batteries. Yes they are pricy, though they save a lot of weight and have a flat voltage curve.
I recently picked up a case of 250 300WM long brass. Did i get good quality bras? What does "long" indicate?. Upon initial review, the brass weighs about 2.5gr more than Nosler 300WM brass.
Welcome abord! Either H4831 or H4350 should work nicely with the 180gr Accubond though I would start with H4831sc. It doesn't matter what we want the rifle to like...how your rifle digests the load is what counts.
When it comes to load development with the 180gr Accubond this bullet likes...
I have picked up a box of the 199gr Hammer hunter bullets to test. The recommended twiston those bullets is 1:9.25". Those should stabilize nicely in my 1:8 barrel.
What is the ideal range for stability? If I understand this correctly an understabilized bullet is trouble at any distance and an over stabilized bullet is trouble at high trajectory angles and long distance?
I was just reading the August/September issue of handloader magazine. In that issue I spotted an ad for Hammer bullets. This looks like an interesting design. Does anybody have experience with this brand of bullet?
I want to spot check quickload data for a 300 Win mag. I am using nosler brass with a water volume of 90.3gr, Viht 565, 200gr partition, 26"barrel, 1:8 twist, max coal 3.42"
