I recently picked up one of the Tisas Yukon in 10mm. I have been skeptical of the Turkish 1911s, and admittedly a bit of a snob when it came to 1911s. A friend of mine bought one of the tisas yukons and was extremely impressed with it. Knowing him to be another 1911 loony his...
Now that I finally have my weekends free I find myself able to do some of the shooting competitions that I have been wanting to for years. I signed up and shot my first steel challenge today. It was a blast.
The only handgun I had enough magazines to shoot a full match and a decent...
I’d love to pick up a voodoo myself. I have been very impressed with how my tikka T1x has done. Clay pigeons at 300+ are a lot of fun. I bought special thin steel for my rimfire to help see movement at 200-300 yards.
I don’t have a picture of the whelen on my phone as it’s at the smith getting a skinner bolt rider peep installed but it’s the twin to my 411/9.3x62. Only difference is the peep is mounted on the scout rail for the 411 and it has a 2.75 Burris scout on. It. The 35 also has the standard stock...

Vortex warranty is simply unmatched. As long as you send them part of an item they will replace it. No questions. When my buddy died in a fire they replaced all of his items along with a very nice personal letter of condolences.
Leupold so long touted for its warranty replied with a...
I know a guy who has killed 3 polar bear with 22-250 running Remington green and yellow 50gr SP. his seal rifle. Poking a bear in the ribs a few times and following in a snow machine is a little different than how most of us hunt
I think he is riding the wave created by shooting a grizzly with a 6.5 Creedmoor. Even in the video I think he admits that it’s too light for a dedicated moose rig.
Not much I can add to the experience here. I’ve used several different cartridges to kill moose. Only a few of those times the moose was knocked off his feet. All three times it was a high shoulder/lung shot that took them off thier feet. Usually they take a shot to the vitals and locked...
Sadly leupold has fallen way behind in. Scopes with dialing turrets. Older set it and forget it leupolds are generally still trustworthy but I’ve been very let down with leupolds sporting turrets. Even the vx5 that I tried was inconsistent and would trend right as I raised elevation. I’ve...
They sit right at the hatchery weir and just eat all day long. They barely have to move, just eat fish heads and eggs all day. Its funny to watch them snap the heads off and just eat heads and eggs and let the fillets float away.
This year was a bust! Spent 8 days out near Chicken. Put over 130 miles on the SXS, dozens of miles on the boot soles. Glasses miles of country. Only saw two moose. One a nubbin bull and cow. The day before season. Saw one bear briefly a few days later.
It was a nice camping...
I recently replaced my Seekins havak with a beretta brx1 because of barrel length. The Seekins was one of the most accurate rifles I have ever owned but it’s 26” barreled when combined with a9” supressor was just too unwieldy. The brx1 has a 22” barrel. Matting that up with a6” supressor...
