No need to be concerned about the length of 250s, even in the short Rem 673 magazine.
I load the 250 gr. Partition over 58 gr. W748, to a COL of 2.80. Accuracy is decent if not great for a medium range rifle (consistently under 1 1/4" @ 100 with half the groups (3 shots) in the 0.8"-1.0"...
Bullet weight is largely a function of what your rifle likes and what you're shooting at.
160 gr. Partition did a fine job on a moose last fall, but I'd take a 140 for whitetails.

From what my outfitter says, most shots are likely to be at 100 or a little under, with nothing past 200, so things look pretty good.
What is the minimum impact velocity recommended for the 250 gr. .358 partition?
