I just ordered a 260 rem and it has the 1 in 8 twist rate. My daughters rem model 7 has the 1 in 9 and shoots the 120gr bullets well. I know the 1 in 8 is suppose to be good for the 130's and heavier but am hoping the 120's will also work well with this twist. Does anyone here shoot a .260 rem with a 1 in 8 rate of twist and bullets in the 120gr range and if so how well does it shoot the lighter bullets? Thank You! Mike

A 1 in 8 twist will handle those bullets just fine so you will have no worries there. An individual gun may or may not like a certain bullet but the twist won't be an issue for you. I haven't done a ton of work with 120's in my 1 in 8 twist 260's and 6.5x55's but have had good accuracy with the 120 gr Sierra and Ballistic Tip in the past.

It sounds as if you have done well. An 8 twist is just about perfect for the .260.

I have a 6.5mm Creedmoor with a 1:8 twist. The 120gn Hornady factory A-Max ammo is great with my rifle. The 129 and 140gn Hornady SSTs along with the 130gn Swift Scirocco IIs also do well. Oddly enough, the only bullet far that doesn't do so well is the 140gn Nosler Ballistic Tip.

Get you some H4350 and most any 100 though 140 gr bullet and you will be in HIGH COTTON. For you Yankees that means you will be happy.
