I have been trying to find a good load for the 110 grain acubond in 3 different rifles2. Twof of them are .257 roberts , and 1 is a 25,06.
All these rifles (and the shooter) have been proven to shoot well with other bullets.
Balistic tips and partitions tripple shocks and lots of standard speers and hornady bullets shoot prety darn well,
but I can't get the acubond to group up to my standards unless i shoot them way slow, like 2550 or so.
I just loaded up 10 of them to shoot in a custom springfield in the Roberts. I used the load from the published data that shows most acuracy.
42 grains V-N160 in a winchester case with a fed 210M primer.
I would like to make this my mule deer bullet but I must get moa and at least 2900 FPS.
If someone thinks I am asking to much.
This rifle squirts the 100 grain tsx out at 3140 and gets about .30 to .60 MOA. (46 grains of H-414).
But I want to try the acubond on mulies. Is the bullet a little long ? mabye I need a faster twist.
Anybody have an Idea.
I bet I have used up 350 of these so far...tjRoberts.

Reloder 22, start at around 46 grs and work up from there. My load 110 AccuBond chronos at 3050 fps from a 24" Remington 700 .257 Roberts. I use Nickel Remington Cases and CCI-200 primers. I wished I had my reloading notes here, I'd tell you the exact powder weight and oal. I can't recall if its 48.5 or 49.5. But work up from the lower charge and see what works.

I will give it a try !
I used that powder last weekend shooting 120 grain bullets.
The Partition didn,t like it at all , But the sierra hollow point seemed to like it just fine. I say seemed to cause the old stump I had the target on , splashed so much wood out through the target I couldnt get a good measurement.
I need to buy some RL-22 anyway My old JC higgins 30,06 should be back from MPI stocks real soon.
And RL-22 under a 180 grain Partition is the load I use in that rifle for Elk.
thanks...tj3006

I need to try them in my Savage Tactical 25-06.

Let us know how that load works out for you.
BTW, my COL is 2.977".

I shoot the 110 in 257 roberts out of my rebarreled 24" savage. I load to an O.A.L. of 2.887 which is as long as my magazine box will let me go. I use 44.4 grains of H4350 and it gives me 2875 fps. I think i could go faster but i need a slower powder. If i go up any more with this i start losing my accuracy. this is in frontier +p cases with WLR primers. By the way with me holding it with a front sandbag it shoots 1 to 1.25" 5 shot groups at 100 yards. I think IT will shoot better but not me without a steady rest.

yeayow

I have used IMR4350 and RL 22 both in my 257 Roberts with great velocity and accuracy.
