115gr. ballistic tip in .25/06

i've been shooting the hornady 120gr. hollowpoint and the nosler 110gr. ab with great results. i've only ever ran 1 box of the 115gr. BTs thru my rifle. how do the 115gr. ballistic tips hold up on deer size critters? in the past i've had the 100gr. BTs blow up on everything i've shot with them. that includes coyotes, whitetail, antelope and hogs both close and afar. i'm hoping they would hold together better than the 100 BT.

I shoot the 115gr B-Tip out of my 25-06 and am very happy with it. They still blow up a little but I have never had a problem with one NOT killing whatever it hit.I think you made the right choice with the 115gr.Good luck.

The 115 gr BT is an excellent choice for the 25-06 for deer sized game.
I have used the 115 gr BT in the 257 Robers and my buddy killed 2 caribou with it.

I used the 115 bt a few years ago to shoot a 200 lb hog at under 100 yards hitting him in the base of the neck and the bullet went through muscle and neck bone stopping under the skin on the far side and I have the bullet somewhere if I can find it I will weigh it for you. Oh yeah, rifle is a 2506. Good stout bullet, IMHO

I think you will have good success with the 115 grain BT. I have shot a number of hogs and several antelope with them and have been happy with the performance.

I have never recovered one of these bullets, they have gone out the other side of every thing I have shot with them. For whatever reason, they seem to drop pigs with more authority than the 115 grain Partitions. Makes no sense, but that it what I have observed.

I load the 115 grain BT over a stout load of IMR 7828 sparked by a Fed 215M primer.

And you are right, my buddies and I have seen the 100 grain BT blow up on wild hogs while the 100 grain Partition does a great job.
