Would like to hear about the good and bad experieces some of you have had with different loads using the 140 grain accubonds in the 270 Win caliber. Which loads are you getting best results with? Time to give them a try.

max load of H4831sc, bullet seated to "just off" the rifling lands, gives me 3000fps and .75" or less normally out of a 24" barrel. best bullet ever made for the .270.

forgot my experience, the last was a montana mule deer at 344yards. double lung shot pass thru, went 40 yards and tipped over.

I have been loading 140gr accubonds over H4831sc with excellent results. I agree its the best bullet made in .277cal. This year alone dropped two mule deer in their tracks with it. Im sure you will love them. Good luck

I would look at H/IMR4831 and RL 22.

I loaded some for my grandpa's 270 win a few years ago. If I remember right I had pretty good luck with IMR4350, but I'll check my records and get back to you tonight.

I've had pretty good luck with H-4350 beside nolser bullet it shoot pretty good with Barnes 140gr TSX. I use H-4831sc for 150gr Partition.

What powder weights are you getting best accuracy with with the H4831sc
powders? What promers are yhou using? Thanks a bunch.

im shooting 58gr H4831 and for COL id say as far as ur magazine allows. My load is sitting .035 off the lands.

I'm running 58.5 grs of H4831sc and a Federal 210 in Norma brass. I seat .030" off the lands. This load has been REALLY accurate in 3 different rifles. Velocity runs 2970 fps.

Remember to work up carefully! YMMV.

I load a Remington MTN rifle for a friend with 130 gr. Partitions or Accubonds. I use H4831SC, 59.0 grs, with a Federal Large Rifle Magnum Primer. He gets 3/4 inch 3 shot groups at 100 yards with it. I have not loaded the 140 gr. but bet it would be a great bullet as well. H4831SC worked very well as did IMR4350. I just played with the IMR4350 a bit, but it looked like velocity and accuracy would be about the same. With the 4350 I used a Federal 210 Large Rifle primer and NOT the magnum primer. Hope this helps.

Turns out I gave the target to grandpa. I don't have the load info. I do know that it was a mid range load with the 140 AB. It was either IMR4350 or RL-19, those are two that I tend to have on my benh at most all times. Sorry....Best of luck to you.

This rifle is a custom built with a barrel length of 24". I have used IMR 4350 and H4831sc for a 130 BT load in the past for a Browning A bolt. I have never tried Barnes bullets. Have used Win WLR and Fed large rifle match primers in the bolt actions.

I have used mainly IMR 4350 in my 22" BAR over the years for 130 Bt. loads. Of course I did not seek max loads for the 270 BAR. I used Win WLR primers in the BAR.

Most of the primers I have used in the last few years have been Fed large rifle match GM210M primers.

It is going to be interesting playing with some different loads for the 140 AB.

Thanks for the info. May take a couple weeks to get the opportunity to work with it but will keep you posted.

I get my best results with:

140gr NBT/AB
57gr H4831
CCI 200 primer (very important)
Winchester brass.
Magazine length.

It's a little on the cold side, but prints under 1/2 inch in about half a dozen different guns.

My 22" bbl Winchester also like the same load with 59gr of H4831. This is a max load and shoots right at 3000 fps.

H4831 is THE go to powder for the .270 Winchester.

In my 270 Win

Win 70 FW

RL 22 @ 61.5
130 TSX
CCI 200 primers
WW cases

Sweet bullet for the 270 Win............the Barnes 130gr TSX
