Hi all,

A buddy has shot the 160 Fail Safe factory load out of his 7 RM exclusivly for the past few years. Now he's discovered that he is out of ammo with 3 days until moose season, and he can't find any more. The good news is I have 2 boxes of the bullets. The bad news is I havn't done any load devel with them before. I need a good starting point for a charge of H4831 SC ( Win. W-W cases). I assume I should try to seat 0.015-0.030" off the lands? Can anybody help?

cheers,
matt

You can start off with about 59 grains or so. My buddies 7mm Rem mag liked 65 gr for 3050 fps and 1.25" at 100 yards. Again, I worked this up in his Colt Light rifle so start and work up.50 or so off that lands and fed 215 caps.

I agree with POP H4831 is awsome with 160gr partitions, my load is 65.5 at 3125fps in a custom Win M70 with W-W brass and standard primers from W-W. i found standard primers all i needed with this combo, no pressure signs and great speed and accuracy.
