Just purchased a box of the new 165 gr.,.308 cal. Accubonds.I plan to load them in .300 Win.mag. Lapua cases.I have the following powders on hand:H-4831sc,H-1000,Ramshot Hunter and Magnum.Does Nosler have any preferences? Is the b.c. .476"?
Thanks for getting the 165gr.AccuBond on the market.I hope that I can get a load worked up with one of these powders.
Thank you Nosler,
Jim

For powder choice you can do a lot worse than RL-22 or H4831. Start at 73 gr or so and work up as you were loading a 165 BT. As far as the bc it should be slightly better (not much) than the 165 Ballistic tip.

Jimmy,

I'm with Pop. If you start out loading with RL22, you may not have to look any further.

what advantages are you hoping for in using the 165 instead of the 180?
I'd like to try the 165 for a reduction in recoil, but I dont think velocity increses would be significant enough to justify the energy loss.
Let me know of your results so I know which way to go. All I've decided so far is the 200 is too heavy and the 150 is too light.

I'll keep you guys posted on what I find out.I have loaded with H-1000 since I have had such good and consistant results.I have loaded from 81.5 to 83 grs. This combo has been sensational with the 168 TSX.I believe that it will work with the AccuBond.I was hoping to test today, but the wind is blowing pretty good and it is HOT!
I am hoping for around 3200 fps. with the easier opening AccuBond.A big deer around here might go 150 lbs.I have had real good accuracy with the 150 AccuBond and H-4831sc,3300 fps and <1/2" but that is to light a bullet from my .300 Winny IMO.The 200 gr.AccuBond is great with Retumbo and /or RL-22,but is too heavy, although extremely accurate.Have not worked with the 180's yet.
Wish me luck and I'll post results-you do the same!

I was out yesterday playing with 165 NAB and 82gr H1000 in my 300 win mag. I get just shy of 3200FPS and groups under an inch.
The 165 NAB has done under an inch with three different powders tried, H1000, H4831SC and H4350.
Going to try some more H4831SC and H4350, they both gave me single digit extreme spread and speeds in excess of 3100 fps.
I tried the 180 NAB but I could not get them to do better then 1.5" with any powders tried.
