Anyone happen to shoot this little round? Im looking to get a 17 caliber for shooting squirrels around our property that's easier on the ears and less chance of ricochet.

I do. Haven't tried alot of different combinations. 20 grn V-Max, Rem 7 1/2, 12.3 grns of surplus WC 680= velocity of 3650. Tried 12.5 grns WC 680=3800 fps +. After 3 shots primers were loose. Pay close attention to any changes you make in your loads. Need to try some more component combinations. Read that pistol primers helped accuracy. I also have some of the Midsouth 20 grn HP's to try.

Figured I'd better add some info.
20 grn V-max's are moly coated with the above load. 3650 fps
20 grn Midsouth HP's were not coated. 3700 fps
Notice the 50 fps increase with .3 grns less powder!
My rifle is a Ruger M77/22 Hornet I had rebarreled. REALLY fun gun!
I've killed a few coyotes, a bobcat, jackrabbits and rockchucks with it.

Must be slipping.
The 20 grn Midsouth bullet was also reduced to 12 grns of WC680. Uncoated Midsouth bullet and velocity was 50 fps faster than the 12.3 WC680 with mollied bullet.
