Oh well heck, if I had a .300 mag moving a 180 at 2800 fps, I'd be looking to bump up that powder charge & velocity some as well.
I'm fine with a 180 at 2800 fps, but that's from my 30-06 rifle! :mrgreen:
Ya, you and your rifle are still getting to know each other. Things will improve. I saw some great loads & group posted above.
Back in the dark ages when I was using a 300 Win mag, I had good results from the various 180's with IMR 4350, and the 200's with IMR 7828. That was long before I had a chronograph, but accuracy was good, and that's the cartridge that educated me on how well a 180 gr Nosler Partition performs on game!
