Good info. Did you keep records on the various group sizes??
Good hunting

Yes, but I don't think they show too much. Need to experiment more. With the 4350 it seemed to tighten up as the charge weight went up. I will have more results later.

Thanks
I'v suddenly become very interested in E-TIP bullets since I live in California and lead may be banned statewide.

Only a matter of time I think.

The lead ban will only affect the people that hunt in the designated Condor range. It goes into effect 1 July 08. The ban isn't state-wide YET.

All shots are from prone in the snow so take them for what they are worth.

25 degrees
180 Etip
H4350 64 grains

3@100 yards
2989 2996 2989
1.5" group. I am pretty sure I pulled the last one. There were 2 together and one 1.5" out.

3@300 yards
2983 2998 3004
2.8" group

3@300 yards
2981 2961 3005
3.25" group

The first two groups @300 I was using a small sandbag as a wuss pad so my eye was a little far back from proper eye relief.

3@300 yards
2988 2989 3000
.8" group

For this one I took the gloves and wuss pad off and really concentrated on follow through.

Here are the 3 groups @300.

Thanks Learning
That will certainly pass for "ACCURATE". I'm looking forward to trying some and see if my rifle likes them that well.
Good Hunting

Nice shooting!
Great report, thanks for sharing.

Definitely some nice shooting there. Just wondering what you were aiming at. I can see the bullet holes but no target per se.

I have been thinking of getting a 300wsm, seems a nicely balanced cartridge.

I am still trying to finalize a load with the Etip so I had the scope roughly zeroed at 100 making the aiming point above, out of the picture.

I bet you can get her down to 2" or less at 300. That is always my goal. My 300 RUM use to do under 1" at 300 yards with 200 gr accubonds.

How did you find the 300 RUM. Did it give you significantly more than a 300WM? How was recoil, noise etc and did you have a break.

Sorry for the tangent this is simply another 30cal I am interested in.

Matt

Here is the latest update.

More prone in the snow, 31 degrees
Airing them out to see how they do at distance
3@300 yards 4" group
3@500 4" group
3@600 6.25" group

They seem to be doing around 1 MOA even out to 600. Not too bad from a factory Rem 700 that goes 7.5 lbs all up.

We need some more seconds so I can keep practicing :)

Wyo elk draw is next week wish me luck. I need to see if an elk can catch one of these.

The 300 Rum was great. Recoil does noy really bother me. No break at all. In facact had 6 300 Rums never has one had a break.
