Hi,
Some more info about my 8x64S Brenneke and 180grs bullets.
Have find out that Norma 203-B is the powder that best gives accurancy and velocity.
Have tried the follow bullets in 8mm:
* Nosler BallisticTip 180grs
* Remington SP 185grs
* Barnes TSX 180grs
* Laupa Naturalis 180grs
I used S&B 8x64S cases, Norma 203-B and CCI200 LR primers.
The loadweight vs. velocity for BallisticTip, TSX and Naturalis is close to each other. These bullets is under 1 1/2 inch at 100yds four shoots series.
51/52grs 203-B gives around 2625fps
55grs 203-B gives around 2780fps
For Remington SP 185grs 2706fps with 55grs 203-B, this load not accurate.
The above loads are moderate preassures and safe in my rifle (Brno ZG-47).
The hottest loads gives around 2926fps with 180grs bullets i list, near max in my rifle.
The "hot" loads was 57-59grs depend on wich 180grs bullets and get around 2900fps. Load 1/2grs over 55grs and use chronograf and your mind to find right max load in your rifle.
!!THIS HOT LOADS CAN BE OVER MAXIMUM PRESSURE IN YOUR RIFLE!!
Done also some penetrations test in wet newspapper with inlay of hard "floor wood". Simulate hard bodie of big game.
And the bullets look like this after been shoot 15yds from target.
Nosler BT (2926fps)__Remington SP (2706fps)__Barnes TSX (2788fps)__Naturalis (2913fps)
The copperbullets penetrate real deep, very identical.
This bullets can handel any game big game in Sweden for sure.
Also the two lead bullets penetrate identical, around half of copperbullets.
The BT lost its lead core but the massive jacket keep on going...
In the future I will proberly use Nosler BT 180grs for small/medium deers and Barnes TSX 180grs for moose and wild boar.
But my multi-purpose loads are 200grs AccuBond, must try out the 180grs more before i shift hunting loads.
