Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas to all of you.

Today we went shooting and I wanted to show off some of my work with my 22-250 I got a while ago.

First pic is 35.5 grains or Varget with a 50 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip.

Second pic is 36 grains of Varget with a 50 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip.

All shot at 100 yards.

All I can see is a bunch of dead varmints with either of those loads. Good shooting, your rifle is a keeper.

The first load ain't bad but the second load is clearly the winner! Please post pics of your holiday yotes.

Not sure what a yote is so I will post a pic of my Remington 700 that was used.

Yote= coyote.
Damn pretty rifle!
700 VLS with a 26 inch barrel?
If so,don't ever let me get my hands on it,you'll never see it again.

Good shooting too.

By the way,try some H380 if you get a chance.Always had GREAT success in 22-250 and 308 with it.

Merry Christmas!

DOH!!!

Well I am hoping to get a shot at a few this coming year.

As for what you said about the rifle. Yes it is a VLS with 26 inch barrel.

No I do not plan on letting anyone get there hands on this one. I had to have my gunsmith add almost 2 inches to the stock to get it to almost 15 inches. These guns are so damn short. LOL

Nice shooting load.
I have the same rifle and have shot the same load for sub .5 MOA.

That is one fine looking rifle! Doesn't seem to be shooting very well though..

abhunter,

That is some fine shooting. Makes no difference how accurate a rifle is if the shooter fails to control the rifle. It looks as if it all came together for you. That can only mean a great deal of fun as you shoot. Making little bitty bug holes at a distance is just plain fun.

Here is my M700 VLS 22-250

Not bad, JD. All these pictures will make me want to buy one of these rifles.

Awesome groups man! Hope my cdl shoots like that...I know is is not a bull barrel.

Mike, you have got to try the 22-250. It is an awesome Varmint rifle, and with some 60gr PT's or the heavier BT's would be a wolf killing machine. I have had my Savage for a long time and have taken alot of varmints and some cull deer in NYS over apple orchards when I was younger and that rifle has never missed "knock on wood". I have 500 60gr PT's and would really like to work up a load for them. Right now, my old stand by is the 52gr Speer HP over 36gr's of IMR3031. It is very accurate and really terminates varmints. I love my 22-250. Scotty

I sold a 22-250 today. I just may have to pick one up in the new year. All that I have developed loads for shot very well indeed. 0.1 inch to 0.5 inch groups is pretty impressive to me.

They are insanely accurate and are really a great choice for coyotes and larger varmints. I know they would knock wolves down well with the 60gr Partitions or a heavier spitzer. They will reach out with good authority, and only bump you on the shoulder. Scotty

The 60 gr PT make for an awesome predator bullet. I shot this coyote dead center chest at 60-70 yds and it exited just below the o ring.

JD, I should have know you would have already used them! That is exactly what I am looking for out of the little Partitions and that performance is nothing short of awesome. I can't see a coyote going anywhere but down with a shot like that. Awesome picture. Scotty

JD, so your load was 34gr's of RL15. If you don't mind, do you have the specifics as far as length and what they clocked for you. I may try loading some later on in the New Year. I think the 60gr PT's will be good for coyotes, and anything else that you are not shooting alot of. Might get kind of expensive for prairie dogs, but with varmint calling, a 100 would go along way.
