Got out to the range this morning with the LVSF Remington Varmint. I have to say right off the bat that I don't like the stock. I guess I spent too many years shooting Weatherby and Sako rifles and have gotten too used to the higher cheek rests. I feel like I have to lay on the Remington stock. It is not the fault of Rem, just hard to get used to a different feel.

I loaded 55 gn Ballistic Tips and 55 gn Sierra Spzt bullets in Varget, H380 and Tac seated to 2.35 OAL. All cartridges had CCI primers and Remington brass. Shooting is limited at the range to 100 yds. I had to do some scope adjustment as it was a bit cocked to one side from the store that the setup came from. My buddy, that I traded to for this rifle, had only shot a few bullets out of it and having not spent more than a few minutes with it (as he was more interested in another rifle he had along) had not bothered to correct it yet. This always messes things up for a while, but after a bit I got it dialed in.

4 shot groups ranged from 1/4" to 2"+ . The best groups which were 1/4" and 1/2" came from different loads. The 1/4' was from the Sierra bullet with 32.8 TAC. The 1/2" was from the Ballistic Tips with 33.5 Varget.

This afternoon I will order somemore Ballistic Tips in 50 gn. to try out. With the Remington 1-14 twist maybe the 50 gn beans will do a bit better for me.

Long,

Sounds like you are going to have a shooter.
The 22-250 is all you need for varmints and coyotes.
Let us know how the 50 gr BT's shoot for you.
