I was wondering what is the OCL for the hornet 40gr billistic tip ammo, and what it's velocity is, and from what length test barrel 22 or 24"?

Every thing but the forum is restricted so I can't check on it my self.

I have a CZ527 American with 21.9" barrel with a VXII 3-9x33mm that I have put may be 45 rounds through so far. Bought the Calhoon .425" rings so the scope sits lower, the low-profile bolt, and the single shot carrier.

I have some new rem brass, fed 205 primers, and so far just Lil-gun powder. I was thinking H110 or win296 might be better for the 40gr billistic tip.

Any reloading help would be great. I was thinking the 45gr would be good for coyotes and bobcats out to 150 yards. I want to reload some 40gr billisic tip and see how they work to. Most shots would be from 30-125 yards along the edges of heavy cover. how do you think the 40gr b-tips will work on yotes and cats at less than 150 yards? Or should I just use the 40grainers for small cridders?

They will work fine. Go with whichever shoots the most accurate. It's all about shot placement. My 204 is sighted in with 40 ballistic tips. Just need to get out there!

Agreed. I guarantee a 40gr. BT will bring down a coyote, that is, if you pull the trigger hard enough.

Like Yotesmoker said, use what shoots best.
