It would seem to me that if you are 14 years behind in your production and have been for three years that you would undertake at least a miner expansion.(ATK) federal, cci

IM Not a smart feller by any means but just seems like good cowboy logic to me.

went to a local gun show and they wanted $150.00 for a 575 cnt federal box. I thought whoa now those babies are marked up.

went to half a dozen stores and was told the same, there are guys that show up every morning and buy what comes in. Everybody's policy now is one box per customer per day. so I started talking with the clerk and he informed me that they had a couple of cases of .22's in the back for "people who by guns" I thought 2 cases?? and you cant sale me one box???

Oh well, I needed an excuse for a new rugger take down.

Yellow Dog want to hear something funny. Yes Wal Mart has .22 LR but in Canada, I go to Wal Mart's all over the USA but no .22 LR, but I did pick up a Federal 550 pack the other day in a Iowa store. Ever since there has been a shortage in USA, when I travel to Cambridge Kitchener & Waterloo ON has had .22 LR in stock as well as Canada Tire store in Kenora.

I have 3 boxes of the 550s & I believe I saw them last time I was in the store. I even get a 10% discount as my wife retired from there as a manager.
It is redicilous that you have to pay that kind of money for 22LR.

Blessings,
Dan

I just bout a 1400 round bucket of remingtons for 79.00 in a mom and pop store.

I do see a fair supply of 22 LR ammunition available. The variety is not as great as it was a few years ago, but there seems to be some ammunition available much of the time.

wonder if this is like the ENRON incident.

Why would they not capitalize on demand and ramp up production?

why has nobody else decided to manufacturer them? there has to be some enterprising folks with the know how out there.

I just want to take my son shooting, but it makes no sense to me why people are still hoarding so much 22lr ammo.

I even wanted to buy my son a 10/22, but what's the point? I don't want to call a 22 a toy, but the only reason I see for shooting them is it's cheap. I'd rather get a 17 HMR, that's not cheap either, but at least you can get it.

But 223 ammo? The last store I was in had more of that then just about everything else combined!

Our gun stores here will let you buy 2-3, 100 count boxes of CCI Mini Mags at retail, if you buy a gun. Recently, since the hoarding got bad, I have bought a PPK/S, .22 LR and a CZ 453, .22 LR. So I have (4) more boxes of .22 LR as a result. Big deal, considering that I spent $900 for the two guns, to save $40 on .22 shells!
