Figured some of you would get a kick out of this.....I was doing a test for something and needed to see what would happen.
The stage: 15 feet away, 10/22, Remington 22LR (maybe someone can identify this exact offering from Remington) against one 650 page phone book. IMG_20130223_170540.jpg

First test it shot right through. So I added an identical phone book taped together so there would be no gaps, fired again and here is what happened.

The second phone book was added and both of them couldn't stop this 22..............

Oh but wait. I bet there is enough of a velocity difference between the 10/22 and the Ruger 22/45.....so let's see what happens when shot with a 22/45 5.5" BBLIMG_20130222_183248.jpgView attachment IMG_20130222_183459.jpg

As you can see the 22LR shot from a 10/22 was humming along with enough zip to mow through not one but two 650 page phone books with thick covers.
You can also see the 22/45 with a 5.5" bbl shot into the same identical phone books could make it 1,091 pages plus three covers of the phone books.

Lastly here is the bullet pulled from page 441 (but 1,091 pages total)plus three thick covers

I am amazed that the 22 LR from the rifle made it through two phone books. Can not discount the power of the little 22!

I should have added it looks like a Rem thunderbolt.

Winner winner, chicken dinner.

Yea that is a Remington Thunderbolt.

It would be fun to do the same testing with some other 22 ammo. High velocity and low velocity stuff and see. I just don't have that many phone books.
