I'm going to start to load for a friends .222 and would like some help H 322 looks like a good powder to start with but I would like to hear from some one that has loaded for this round.
I have never used H322, i think the classic powder for the 222 is 4198. That's what i have been using for years, 19 to 20.5 grs. with 50 or 52 gr. bullets. Very good accuracy. Try it, you'll like it.
I had a short barreled remington 600 mohawk in 222 that I used to load for. I had a few good full power loads with H4895 and 322 with 40-52gr bullets and several reduced loads with bluedot powder to duplicate 22lr and 22mag performance with 45gr hornet bullets. I think you will find the 222 very easy to reload for and generally very accurate.
I had sold the rifle several years ago when I was hard up and luckily just found the same rifle again today at a gun show. Needless to say I picked it up and won't be letting it go again. Its not every day you get to buy back one of the ones you regrett selling.
Back in the early 80's when the .222 was winning benchrest matches the standard was w748, Sierra 52gr match bullets, and benchrest primers. This combination has shoot's some really tiny groups.
