223 on the way load info

Got a good deal on a xbolt in 223 couldn't refuse, so now im thinking about how to feed this thing. Browning website shows a 1-8 twist in their composite stalker so what's a good go to combo that's good for coyote, maybe deer, might be a little small however, might keep it small game only. For brass I can get Nosler however lapua is only a little more??? any advise in powder type and bullet selection. Thinking Hodgen Extreme powders. Bullets I haven't got a plan yet. 1-8 twist makes it a little different. Ideas?

I've got a Tikka T3 with a 1/8 barrel on it.
It likes 55 gr NBTSs on top of Varget.
Also shoots 65 gr Sierra Gamekings VERY well on top of BLC2

I have burned many pounds of H335 with 50 to 55 gr. bullets. I have also used TAC, CFE223 and even IMR4198.

I'd think with that twist and small stuff with maybe deer on the menu the 64 GR BSB bullet would be the ticket.
I've shot 8208 XBR in mine with 50's and 55's and the accuracy was excellent. No 64s with it yet though. CFE223 would probably also be good.

1:8 twist is great on a .223 rifle!

Lets you use some fairly heavy bullets, like the 69 grain HPBT match bullets, with good accuracy.

If you haven't played with Nosler's 64 grain bonded soft point... You owe yourself that treat. It's a very capable bullet, though the BC isn't particularly high.

60 grn Hornady VMAX work really well for be with Varget.

69 grn Sierra MatchKing also with Varget.

My Rem 700 VTR is a 1:9 twist. 69 grn is the heaviest I've tried with that thing.

The 69 gr nosler custom comp shoots great from my 1-9 twist Rem. 700. And it sure puts big holes in woodchucks at impact speeds around 2400fps. The 55 Blitzking shoots great too, but I just put it together so I haven't tried it on anything but paper yet. Almost every load I've tried with h322 has been sub MOA. I'd like to try Reloader 15 here before too long.
