Started some load work with my .243 this week. I started with IMR 4350 cause I had some. Worked up from 46 gr to 47 gr. All loads had a COAL of 2.700, 210 primers, and Nosler brass.

Since this pic I tested 47gr @ 2.710 and it shoots .5 MOA. Was doing some practicing yesterday using my Mil Dot as a ranging system. I was shooting at a bunch of old wood, dead cows, and an old camper that was in a dump we have. I used a board as my known target size and computed that it was 370 yards away. My Program told me I needed 2 Minutes of elevation. After shooting a few pieces of wood and confirming my zero for 370, I poked on into the side of a trashed camper. I was planning on shooting a group on the side of it, but after the first shot I cought movement. I cotton tail rabbit came out of the camper and stood in the open. I took a hold on him and touched one off. As I recovered from the recoil I saw the poor fella doing a backflip in two pieces!

Also got my hands on some RL-17 to try. Glad I did! Ql suggested a max of 46.5 so I worked up to 46 from 45. All loads had a COAL of 2.710, 210 primers, and Nosler brass. The top load was 45.5 gr, and measures .287". Should be just under 3600 fps. Next nice day I'll do some chrony testing.

Nice! I've read that H414 is supposed to be good with 70 grain bullets as well. Might give it a try....
