243 90gr E-tip

Randy go to 6.5 & 125 gr. Partitions in the reloading section where your post is. I shot a 90 gr. E-Tip in water at 100 yards today along with a 100 gr. Partition and a 165 gr. AccuBond out of my 30-06. JD338's pictures of his recovered Partitions are excellent as well. If you look at how all three performed I think it comes down to what your rifle shoots best!

The E-Tip penetrated and was in gallon jug number 6 like the other two bullets were. It started at 90 grs. and ended at 89 grs. with a very nice mushroom. I'm going to try this at 300 yards next to see how it does when it's slowed down bit. Each Nosler bullet performed superbly IMO!

That is some fine shooting! I have had great luck with H1000 in my 243 with any bullet 95gr or heavier.

What kind of fps are you getting out of the 270 WSM with H1000?

Shot the loads over my chrono today, I'm getting 3060fps with 66gr H1000/Speer 150gr

Randy, that sounds pretty good. Is 66gr's max? Not that it really matters but man, seems like a good load. Never tried H1000 in the 270WSM. How is it for case fill? Scotty

Scotty
max for my gun, not a compressed load but close. C.O.A.L. 2.730"@.015 off lands
67.5@3001fps is listed as max in my Hodgdon manual.

Have you tried that load Randy? I bet that would be in the 3100 range, and really make some 150gr PT's scream. I may have to grab some H1000, just to check it out. Scotty

No, my bolt lift is starting to get a little harder at 66gr and I don't think I should go higher.
Going to pick up some 150NPT next time they are on sale.

Good deal. Just wondering. I wished I could get some MagPro in order to do some work with the 150's. I think it would really work well. Just hard to get it in this area, and I don't like to have to order powders due to the HAZMAT deal. Scotty
