Does anyone by chance have load recipes using RL-22 for a 80gn bullet in the 243 Win? Nosler #5 shows data for a 95/100grn bullet. Reason I ask is, I bought a 5 lb tub of it for developing 300RUM loads and ended up using Retumbo. My guess is it's to slow for these lighter bullets.

Thanks

I would use the data for 95g as a starting point. The 80g will be able to take a couple more grains of powder. You never know untill you try.

My spouse (Little Greek female super sexy Santa) got me a rem 700 243 for X-mas!

I was looking for some loads too with the 95 gr BT for everything. Coyotes, deer antelope. My target velocity is 3000 fps.

POP, I just sent off my receiver and forearm to H&R to have the 24" bull barrel in 243 fitted to my gun. It'll probably be a while, but as soon as I get it back, I'll try some RL-22 with 80gn Btips and post my results.

Back in my 243 Win days, there were 6-7 guys shooting the "club" load

70 gr BT
39.5 grs IMR4895
W-W case
Federal GM210M primer

This load shot well under MOA for everyone.

Hope this helps.

This was my plan. Start around 41.gn and go from there. I'm guessing a max of say, 44.5gn (2gn above 95BT max). We'll see what the new barrel likes.

If anyone is interested, I found some load data for 80gn bullets and RL-22.

Starting - 42gn
Listed Max - 47gn (compressed)
