Hi everyone, I am a brand new member to the forum today. I'm looking for help to verify a load for my .25-06. I found this load data in some old records but cannot find it anywhere in my reloading manuals or online. It is an 85 gr. Nosler BT ahead of 58 gr. of RL22 using REM 9 1/2 primer. I want to be sure it won't cause over pressure or case head seperation.

Hi and welcome. I just had a lot of fun with a 25-06. There are tons of guys here, very knowledgeable and experienced with this round. They got amazing results out of their guns as well. For me, I will let them give you detailed feedback as they are better suited than myself. I will say the Nosler BT factory ammo shot amazing and that was the bullet I was pushing to use in this gun as well.
I wrapped up load development and sent it to my father in law, with a big smile on my face that it was gone. I think you are well under pressure though.
Here is what I ended up with, although if it was my own rifle I would have continued to test

Dave, welcome to the forum. I've been happily loading and using the 25-06 for quite a while. Great cartridge! Re powder choice and the 25-06:
1) Reloader 22 is almost impossible to find anymore. Alliant hasn't been distributing for handloaders for a couple of years and supplies of their powders have mostly dried up.
2) For 85-100 gr, there are better powders. Consider the 4350's, H4831, even Varget with those 85's you've got. With 100's the 4350's and H4831 are terrific.
3) For the heavier 115-120 gr bullets I've seen great results with slow burning powders like RL-22, Hodgdon Retumbo, IMR 8133, and Ramshot Grand.

Hello Guy, thanks for the powder & bullet weight suggestions. I'm using the RL22 I got from my father, I've been keeping it in my dehumidified (<50%) and between 55 -60 degrees basement. Once that's gone I'll switch if RL22 is unavailable.
