Hi Fellas- Would any of you like to share some very accurate handloads using the 100 gr Nosler Ballistic Tip or 100 gr. Horn spire point? I'm looking for loads on the warm to hot side. The 700 CDL I have seems to like near max, max., or slightly over. Right now the only good load I have is 58 gr.- H-4831 with the 100 gr. Hornady Spire @ 3268 fps. All is o.k. in my gun. If I back off the load too much, I start to get two points-of-impact. Using a Fed. 210M primer, W-W brass. Next step is to switch to BR-2 primers and see what it'll do. Thanks!

Try 57-58g RL-22 with that 100g btip. work up from 55g or so, its hot, but usually accurate and 3400fps as well. Also, try 54-55g IMR-4350 with the 100g btip, once again its a little warm so start about 52 or so, usually pretty accurate and 3350fps or so. If it dont like any of those, your different selection of primer might be a wise move, couldn't hurt to test anyways. Seat your bullets out as far as you can. If you haven't already, a trigger job of 2-3# and maybe a floating and bedding job couldn't hurt.

Thanks fellas! I 'm going to try the loads that you mentined as soon as I can get to the gunshop for some RE-22 . Also think I'm gonna swap the scope on this 25-06 for a Nikon 6-18X. The one on it now is a Bushnell Banner 6-18x. It's just not what I'm used to in a scope. Only reason I had it put on was cause they didn't have anything else worthwhile, and I wanted to get started on load development.

Actually a 4x12 or a 4.5-14 is more than plenty on a 25-06 unless you're gonna try some 500-600 yard prairie dog shooting.

Take a look at the Leupold VXIII 4.5x14. Awesome scope for short and long range hunting.

Yes, I like the 4.5-14x Leupold on my .25-06 Rem 700 CDL; it works out great for varmints, predators and mule deer. Am loading with H4350, at two different levels, 50 grains for 3200 fps, 53 grains for 3340 fps. Either one is accurate. This mulie was taken last October with the 53 grain load.

I have a 6-18 leupold target on my 25-06. It fits the rifle perfectly depending on what you want it for, and how far you want to shoot. My 25-06 is my dedicated longer range coyote and deer rifle where shots under 200 yards dont happen to often. I wanted the higher power scope for shots out to 500-800 yards on coyotes and deer. 6x is still plenty low enough in my opinion for even 50 yard shots. Let the type of hunting you do decide what power scope you need. I love 6-18's, they are pretty versatile in my opinion.
