I recovered this 110 gr AB shot from my 257 Roberts at a MV of 2975 fps into water jugs at 100 yds.
The recovered bullet weighs 72.6 grs and expanded to .527". It was recovered in the 4th jug.

Looks pretty good Jim. I gotta get another 25 caliber. I really miss the 25-06.. We were just starting to have fun! Scotty

Scott -
you never had any fun with that rifle... :p . Nice recovery Jim, gives me alot of confidence with that bullet in all my 25 calibers.

Well, that makes me want to up my inventory of 110 grain ABs for my 257 Bob. Good pictures, Jim. The 100 yard performance is really excellent.

Now I'm getting started with this bullet, it'd be good to recover one from a stag later this month.
I reckon I'll have to get one lodged in a shoulder to get one back though as these will probably punch right through with fair ease.
Or, it'll have to be recovered from a longer range shot.
Cheers, Tom

pssst.... .25 WSSM, 75grs @3700, 90grs @ 3500, 100grs @ 3300, 120grs @ 3050 (I'm actually 100fps over these in my rifle w/o hitting max loads), & they're "cute"...

Aw Crap, there ya go convincing me I need to buy some more Noslers. Some body with quickload tell me what I can expect for velocity out of my 250 savage? H 4350 or IMR 4064. Thanks CL

CL,

A stiff charge of H4350 should yield 2700 fps and change in a 22 inch barrel. A maximum charge of IMR 4064 will generate approximately the same velocity.

This is exactly what I envision out of my soon to be purchased 257Bob. Nice velocity.

Thanks for sharing. I'll be hitting you up for load info once I finalize my purchase.

Thanks Doc,
Thats about what I figured. Little slow. 2800 is kinda a self imposed limit. Dont know that the 100fps would make that much of a difference, really. I'd need to "Ackley" the old 250. CL

CL,

A 100 fps differential would be inconsequential in the field; it wouldn't really effect your performance all that much. It is still a potent little package for game.

Don't worry CL, when the right 250 Savage runs across me, I will have one and do plenty of load work for the both of us. I am not a huge Savage fan, but the American Classic in 250 Savage would be just awesome I think. Scotty

Hey-
Stumbled back across this thread and forgot I had already posted. Question though, what are the reliable expansion velocities for a 110 Gr AccuBond. I would consider the 110 ab because the BC is a little better than the 100 BT. Would a MV of 2700fps give me sufficient expansion out to say 300 yds? It wou be a replacement for the 100gr PT. CL

Expansion should not be a problem out to 300 yards. With a maximum charge of IMR4064, you would have a muzzle velocity of 2700 + fps, which would translated into 2100 and change fps at 300 yards.

They are great bullets.
I hit my mulie buck at 40 yards through both shoulders this year. 110 Ab at an impacted 3500 fps from my 257 Bee. Complete penetration.
