257 weatherby load for 110 acubond

first off welcome to the forum. I think you will like it here.

I know a couple of guys who reload RL22 ( start at 65 gr and work up) and they are getting 3400 fps from their 24" barreled vanguards with great accuracy.

Hope this helps. Flat as Kansas.

Worked with the .257 and 110 AccuBond yesterday at the range. RL22, RETUMBO and IMR7828 SSC have promise for accuracy and velocity. Best of this batch was around 68 grains RL 22. Plus or minus .5 grains should be the ticket. I'll know more after Friday. Next two days I will be chasing coyotes. My rifle is a re-chamber Ruger M77VT (heavy 26") barrel. Much wood removed from the stock.

Round I'm using now is 100 grain Nosler Ballistic Tip, Norma brass ($98/100) Federal 215 Magnum Match primer and 76.5 grains RETUMBO. Consistent 1/2" to 3/4" (3) shot groups at 100 yards at 3650 FPS.

Had a range session with the 110 AccuBond and .257 Weatherby this morning. My partner will post photo. Tried RETUMBO, RL22 and IMR7828SSC. Three shot group at 100 yards = .26" Velocity = 3475 FPS.

The usual but important warning - - - WORK-up slowly. The Load data is as follows. Weatherby brass, 110 grain Nosler AccuBond, CCI 250 primers, 71.0 grains IMR 7828SSC. No pressure signs in my rifle.

The target in the photo is 3" in diameter. Checked the load on 300, 400, and 450 yard gongs. Load is dead center at 300 and -7" at 400 and about -12" at 450. Impressive speed and evidence visible on the steel gongs.
