26 NOSLER

It is something like the 404 Jeffery. It has more case capacity than the 264 Win mag but it is beltless and has a bit of a rebated rim from what I hear.

The 26 Nosler is based on the 404 Jeffery. It is very close to the 375 Ruger, necked down to 6.5mm/.264 cal.
Not sure what powders will be tested but thinking along the lines of RL22, RL25, H1000, Retumbo.

Appreciate the clarification 1 Shot and JD as not everyone knows a lot about the 26 as it is so new!!
Still stickin with the 1/4 bore club myself but this set up is sweet for sure !

Hope it is a 404 case without rebated rim but then it would not fit std bolt face?

I shot alot of necked up 404 x 458 (also known as 460 GA).

Great case to work with. Very versatile!

And to think I re-bored my pre 64 264 Magnum to 7mm Remington! (Original 26 inch stainless barrel).

This is not a cartridge I would do alot of load development with. Just do what ever Nosler says! Barrel life will be atrocious. (My tactical and 1000 yard friends change out 6.5mm barrels between 1500 and 2500 rounds, especially when using slower powders).

Us .308 shooters go 5,000 rounds but give up about ten feet of elevation at 1,000 yards!!!!.

What a fun cartridge.

PS Let us see what a Long Range 129 and 140 grain look like at 1300 fps.

I think a guy looking for a sweet deer thru elk rig with great trajectory and moderate recoil could really like the 26 Nosler. Has the ability to really spit them 140's out quick..

As for you turning a Pre64 264 into a 7mm Rem Mag....

Just kiddin with ya. Both of them are great cartridges, and the 7mm Rem Mag was my first rifle, so it has a big place in my heart.
