Is this in the new maunal or does anyone here have a load worked up taht I can get a reference point from to reduce and work up from. be using 120 gr B-tips or 140PT's. I have a 120 BT load with 4350, but think that the retumbo will give better velocity without making the bullet too unstable.

Here is a reference point.

142g SMK, 69g Retumbo, CCI250 primer.

Handloader mag from a few years ago had loads. Maybe someone will offer up some more data.

Retumbo is probably too slow for 120g bullets. RL22 might be better.

The RG #6 is at the printer so it will be available in a couple weeks or so.
There is Rutumbo load data in it for several calibers.

Tried a couple different loads with retumbo, including the 120 gr BT's, was late in the day by the time I got onto the 120's and on a used target. Used one shot as a spotter to see how much high at 100 yds I was hitting, and the other two measured in at 3/8". That with 70 grs of Retumbo and the older solid base BT's on 7mm rem resized, fired once and neck sized brass. Rifle is an old winchester westerner pre 64. 140 PT's I used 7828 and got a 5/8" group. Was very inpressed with the 120 grain bullets, I weighed the pills before loading and found they were only +/- 0.1gr, which is amazing for hunting rounds.

What velocities?

I don't know what velocities, I would guess 3200fps, because the load data I got was for 71grns and that was chronographed @ 3337fps with 120gr BTips. I reduced 1 grain because I had gotten a refernce point of 69 grains for 140 grn lead and only reduced the 1 grain instead of 4. I am not going any higher with that load tho, the primers looked ok on 2 of the three, but the third did show a tiny bit of expansion. Similar to the amount factory 7mm Super X ammo expands.

Here is a picture of the group. I would not have noticed how nice it was except my groups are seldom this small.
