Have anyone tried this combination?I understood the 265gr ABLR is quite long and heavy for a 338-06 case, and I'm probably going to get some sort of a slow heavy cartridge quite a bit under 2400fps out of this combination, but it's kinda what I'm looking for. Any loading data and powder suggestions that might perform well for this combination?

Welcome to the forum. I’ve used the 265 ABLR in the 338 RUM with excellent results on WT deer. It hits hard and shoots sub .5 MOA at 2875 FPS.
You won’t get that speed but it will still expand well and penetrate deep.

I tried it in my 338 Jarrett, also came in around 2850. I couldn’t see a reason to give up the 250gr AccuBond in my application. There is a significant body of evidence suggesting long heavy for caliber bullets at moderate velocity can be very effective. Currently thinking of K. Bell and his 275 Rigby using 175gr round nose bullets.
Welcome aboard.
