I have just purchased a rem mod 700ADL in 270 and have started to work on 140gr AccuBond loads. I am really curious what powder/primer combo's are producing good results.

Lets see, I think I was using 58.6g H4831sc, Fed 215 primer, RP case. They were doing roughly 3.5" at 300 yards out of my BDL 270. Good enough for deer out to 300-400, but not the most accurate bullet out of my 270 for longer ranges I was wanting to shoot. However, I must note that 2 shots were always under 1" with this load, but always had a big 3" flyer or so, but I guess the first one or at least the 2nd shot is what counts. Good luck and work up to that load, its a little warm in my .270.

For my rebarreled Ruger # 1 in 270 win I use : Federal 210 primers, 52 g N160, AccuBond 140 g, OAL 82 mm. Gives MOA accuracy at 100 meters !
Have tried to load it a little hotter, but the hotter load was`nt that accurate.

For my son's 270 it is the 140 AccuBond, 58 grains of H4831sc, CCI primer and Wincester cases. Very accurate, at least to 100 yards as that is all the farther our local range goes where we have shot it.

The best loads in my Savage 110 - 270 are as follows starting with the best:

1) IMR-4350 - 51.0 grs, Remington case, WLR primer
2) IMR 7828 - 57.3 grs, Federal case, WLR primer
3) Varget - 43.5 grs, Frontier case, WLR primer
4) IMR 4064 - 44.0 grs, Federal case, WLR primer

These loads work best for accuracy in my rifle...(I'm not concerned with velocity for the hunting I do). As always, even though these are pretty mild loads, work up and check as you go....but you already knew that

Hope this helps....Blaine

I have had pretty good results with 51.5 gr of IMR 4350 CCI 200 In Remmington cases. I use a lot of 4350 in my 300 win mag with great results. I am headed out tomorrow with multiple loads for grouping tests.
I wanted to go out last week end but it was too windy for testing. I loaded with different charges of 4831, 4350 and also found a few loads for Varget.

I had good results with 140gr AccuBond, 52gr Imr 4831, cci 200, WW cases. I don't know the exact fps as I don't have a chrony yet.
The pic is a 5 round group @ 100yds from the tailgate of my truck with a rolled up jacket for a rest. I think these would do pretty good from a bench with a sled type rest. I am going to try some different primers just for fun.

The most accurate load I have loaded for a 270 was Rem case, Rem 91/2 primer, Imr 4350 (just under max), and 140 Sierra or Hornady boattails.

Nice group. might want to try RL22 and H4831. You may be able to shrink your groups even more.

I would try my load, it shot a lot tighter than yours with my Howa 22" barrel. It is the most accurate load I have ever shot out of anything, no joke. It could work with 140 Nos accubonds being they are similar shaped to the bullets I used.

Old #7,

The short cut powders are really a dream to meter. It is much easier to get consistent / specific loads (I weigh every load). And I see no difference in performance when compared to the regular H powders.

I will try RL22. I have been looking at it for my 300 win mag.

75.0-75.5 grs RL22 in you 300 Win Mag with 180 gr bullets should give you sub MOA accuracy. Work up carefully.

My M700 CDL in 270 shoots the 140 AccuBond very well indeed. I use 60 grains of Vihtavuori N165 in a ww case, fired by the old 8½ Primer. Here's a typical group. Regards, Eagleye
