Hi All,
Anybody have a load for a 270-308 loaded for 130gr Nosler BTs. That is a 308 necked to 270.

They were popular before the 7-08 came out. But there is limited to no data on them these days. Anyone out there showing their age and know of a good load.

LOL...I haven't forgotton you yet!

Being this is the Nosler site...
130BT
start at 38-39 Varget (ADI 2208)
perferably a BR2 primer
Win brass.
That should put you in the 2600 range. Work up from there carefully. You can also start N140 or RE15, around 39-40 grains.

I took a quick look at the last load I used for whitetails ...
43.5-Varget
130 Solid Base (new production)
BR2 / Win brass
2984 fps . 22" barrel.
COAL 2.750"

Well, I got some info on the 270-08 -

130gr projectile x 2900fps
2206 x 38gr
2208 x 41.5gr
2209 x 46.5gr

140gr projectile x 2700fps
2208 x 37gr
2209 x 43gr

150gr projectile x 2600fps
2208 x 35.5gr
2209 x 41.5gr

First edition of the ADI reloader's manual.

I think you discover powders in the Varget,H-414 and N140/540 range will generally give you the best performance,velocities/accuracy with a 130. If you move up to a 150, H4350 works very well.

Both my barrrels (270-08 and 270-308AI) are both 12 twist, so I stick to the 130 weights.

Well, you have my email, so keep me up to date on your progress.
