.270 Winchester...SCORE!

Very pretty rifle!! My RSM in '06 has a much lighter piece of Circassian. Here it is with another rare M77, a tang safety in .284 Win. Only ever seen 2 of them.

The Circassian is a really nice looking, contrasty piece of wood with dark stripes. Great looking guns.

Thank you Sir. The other side has lots of contrast, much more than this side.

Wow, those are some very nice Rugers right there! Sharp..

One of our members just got a Ruger wood stock replacement for his 280 and it is NICE!

Well, I finally got off my rear and scoped this thing. I had to resort to Ebay to find some gloss rings- I really wanted "lows" but all I could find was "medium"- at 1/2 of what Midway wanted for new Ruger rings. After mounting I was pretty glad since I'm sure the bolt clearance would be minimal at best if it doesn't outright make contact.

The fixed 3x is a perfect match aesthetically to my taste and performs well on the range. Several varieties of 130gr grouped at 1" to 1.5" on an improvised rest in 0F weather. Some Federal 150gr RN gave a tight cloverleaf despite the crappy trigger. I'll work with it more but I think it's plenty good enough for what I'll be doing. Hoping I'll bag a late season caribou with it or perhaps a spring bear.

Nice and a good hunting rig as well! What is not to like?

The only thing I dislike is that after several years of hunting ultra light rifles this pig comes in a nearly 10lbs!

Makes for an easy shooting piece but stalking across a few miles of tundra with it might be a drag. It's not all that but it's surprising what a couple of pounds between the hands feels like after a day when you've become accustomed to something lighter.

Very nice looking rifle! That 3X Leupold looks pretty good as well. Sounds like it shoots great too. Congrats, glad you were finally able to get it out and shot some.

That is a beauty, good luck on the caribou and bear this year. Looks like the perfect rifle for easier hunting days when you don't have to hike through miles of rough terrain.

Nice rifle you got there. You still have a bou tag? A bou would make a great first animal to try that rifle out on! I'm going this weekend myself, I think. Waiting to see what the weather does. You plan on reloading for it or hunting with the Federal round nose?

I have had marvelous luck with the 150 PT and H4831, the 140 AB with H4350, and the 130s with either 4350 or 4064. Have owned sevral 270s in my time but that on eof yours is definately one of the most handsome. The one I regret turning loose of was a Remington 721 though, gave it to my nephew when he graduated highschool. That gun loved 150 grain everything with the 140 BT coming in at close second place! :)

A fixed 3 in AK would be a nice setup!

I was wanting to go this last weekend but the weather was crap. Hopefully this weekend will pan out. I've got some Fed 150RNs and some Remington Core Lokts that should work fine.

Wife has done a little shooting with it- she'll probably adopt it and leave me looking for something else.

I'll likely reload for it eventually once all this ammo madness sorts itself out. I can find loaded ammo all day long but forget cases, primers or powder and in many instances- component bullets.

I've got enough to get through until supply chain catches up though.
